Memento Mori uses the symbolism of insects, shells, and flowers to signify death, decay and fertility. Flowers represent life, the gold leaf signifies wealth and what will be left behind, shells represent fertility, and insects symbolize decay. I am interested in death as a subject matter because it is a reminder of the fragility of life.

Ceramic wall installation, double sided Velcro, approximately 36” x 36”, 2019
